Our post 16 students organised a cake sale on the 29th September to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning event held across the country.
Many of our post 16 students either made or bought cakes for the sale which was received by generous cake donations from lower school students and staff. Students voluntarily gave up their time to set up the cakes in the hall which they sold at breaktimes and there was a vast array of delicious treats available to buy. There were so many donations that a further cake sale was held on Monday 1st October to sell the remaining shop-bought cakes.
The cake sale raised a fantastic £261 which will help support the work that Macmillan nurses provide. Right from the moment of diagnosis Macmillan nurses provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support for people facing cancer along with support for friends and family.
