A group of Year 12 and 13 science students from Bedlington and Ashington visited Newcastle University this week to attend the annual Kilcoyne Christmas lecture.
Students enjoyed seeing much-loved demonstrations such as oscillating reactions and chemiluminescence performed on a large scale.
The latter part of the lecture was visually stunning, with all the pops and bangs expected in a great chemistry demonstration.
