Congratulations to our under 13 boys' cricket team who trained hard to make it to the Northumberland County Cricket finals for the first time in six years.

Their first game was against Kings Priory School at Benwell Hill Cricket Club in the semi-final. It was a very tight and entertaining affair with the match coming down to the final two balls of the game. Thankfully, Ashington managed to surpass Kings Priory's 148 run target in the final with two balls to spare thanks to a fantastic 63 scored by captain Thomas Luke and four wickets taken by Jack Broadie.

However, the boys did not fare quite as well in the final played later that day as they were beaten by Newcastle School for Boys.

Nevertheless, the team had a fantastic day. Well done boys.
