Our Year 7 chefs continue to amaze us with their culinary masterpieces, and it looks like there’s no stopping them yet!
This week’s tasty offering is none other than the winter British classic: crumble! Recently, they have been learning about baking methods, a theme that we will continue in next half term’s baking extravaganza. Students demonstrated their understanding of the ‘rubbing in method’ by making a perfectly textured crumble topping. Using a variety of fruits and thinking about complimentary tastes as well as food provenance, they have served a huge variety of crumbles ranging from pear and forest fruits to a good old warming apple and caramel! Eat your heart out, Mary Berry: you’ve got some stiff competition!
