Reflections from our Head Girl

Words from our Head Girl...

"In this first term, personally, I feel it’s been great to see so many students back at school, especially after the difficulties we have all faced with Covid over the past two years.

It’s taken a lot of adjustments, but the school has used this time really well to upgrade and modernise our facilities and by expanding opportunities for our students. One of the new innovations is the Student Leadership Team. I have been lucky enough to be given the privilege of being appointed Head Girl this year. It’s been great to meet students from across all year groups, welcoming the new year groups and meeting some parents.

Over the rest of the year, I’m going to be working hard to do my GCSEs but, in my role as Head Girl, I want to help students to have a voice and some influence on how things develop in the school. I’m also really keen for the school to help some great local charities so keep a look out for some upcoming events where you could have a really strong impact on your own community!

The Charity Committee meets in room 54 every Tuesday lunchtime if you want to get involved. We also have some great new clubs such as ‘The Debate Club’ which I lead. As part of this club, we are currently looking at organising inter–school tournaments and we will compete in the trust-wide competition ‘The Big Debate’. It really feels like there is something for everyone out there, so have a look around and get involved!"
