We want you to be the best you can be here at Ashington Academy! Introducing our passports to success...
Year 7 - 9 students have been provided with a ‘Passport to Success’. This requires them to get involved and challenge themselves, not just within their academic lessons, but by involving themselves in all aspects of the school community. We hope to see many filled passports!
The passport includes a wide range of challenges, including:
- committing to an extra-curricular club for a full term;
- using academic vocabulary correctly;
- taking part in an inter form activity;
- achieving over 300 praise points;
- not receiving any sanctions in a term;
- read a book and writing a review of it;
- being polite, kind and well-mannered;
- completing a piece of homework they are proud of.
Over the full academic year if students complete:
- One passport (1 term) = Bronze Award
- Two passports (2 terms) = Silver Award
- Three passports (3 terms) = Gold Award
A note to parents and carers, please help and encourage your child to be fully involved in the ‘Passport Challenge’ to prepare them with the skills needed to be successful in the wider world. Ultimately, being fully involved will help them to strive to be the best; strive to be a role model; strive to be an outstanding Ashington Academy student!
