Bloomin' great photography!

This term, our super-talented Year 10 photographers have been working with the ideas of Billy Kidd, a renowned photographer (not a notorious cowboy!). Lockdown has not stopped these wonderful students as they have pushed even harder to learn how to use Photoshop, use specialist cameras and show what Ashington Academy students can really do!

Students focused on the decay of flowers during their photography sessions. The class undertook plenty of research alongside some experimenting with cameras so that they could get their shots just right and create some really beautiful work.

To capture the beautiful images, students set up a shoot, looking at lighting, the position of the camera and how to focus up close. They then worked on Photoshop to create a variety of shadows and enhance vibrant colours.

These photos will now be printed and displayed in our art department. Well done Year 10, you have outdone yourselves and shown everyone how it is done. These shots would be worthy of any photographer’s studio!
