NE6 stars of the week

We are so proud of all of our sixth form students for how hard they are working remotely!

Our staff have been overwhelmed by the effort and resilience of our NE6 students and had plenty of students to nominate for stars of the week. Let's take a look at who they chose...

Year 12

Lewis Brenard, Biology

"As he works with an absolute determination 100% of the time. He scored excellent marks in his last assignment on ventilation in insects. He always answers questions in lessons and completes task on time. A real trooper."

Danny Broady, Business and Economics

"As he always contributes answers, work is always completed on time to a high standard, but most importantly always says hello and asks how everyone is. So polite!"

Maddison Dodds, Chemistry

"As she is consistently excellent and lovely to teach!"

Guy Henderson, Economics

"As he always contributes answers and work is always completed on time to a high standard."

Sophie French, Charlotte Howe and Scarlett Sprudd, English Language

"As they have produced a piece of work that Mrs Corbett would normally set in Year 13 and they scored half marks and more which was phenomenal!"

Chloe Crosby, History

"For her resilience and effort which has been evident in the improvement she has made to her marks in a recent exam question."

Callum Wilson, Philosophy and ethics

"As he has written a fantastic essay, acting on advice given and showing himself to be a very promising Philosopher."

Emily Berkeley, Physics

"As she is just so smart. Mr Grange uses her answers to check he has got the sums right himself!"

Year 13

Jessica Thomas, Art

"For some beautiful studies in paint, collage and charcoal."

Ruby Bolton and Ellen Sleightholm, Biology

"For conscientious preparations for controlled assessments and having the confidence to ask questions and seek clarification. They are both showing a very mature attitude at a potentially stressful time."

Cobie Lashley, Health and social care

"For an excellent progress towards completing her coursework and a consistently positive attitude in lessons."

Lauren Brown and Mya Wilson Smith, Maths

"For consistent effort during lockdown in both lessons and intervention."

Ellen Sleightholm, Psychology

"For a consistently determined attitude towards classwork and independent revision."
