Having worked for the NHS in the North East, Cumbria and Yorkshire for over 40 years Les recently retired. Originally training as a nurse and practising as a clinician in a variety of settings he moved into management and progressed to work at board level for over 20 years. He has held a range of roles including Executive Director of Nursing, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive in 4 different NHS Trusts.
In these senior leadership roles, Les gained significant experience in governance, performance management, finance, capital development, people management and the development of corporate strategy. Les believes that access to good quality education for children and young people is a vital foundation for adult life and hopes he can use his experience to support the school on its ongoing drive for excellence.
