Head Boy

"Hi, my name is James. I was born in Dudley, not the Dudley in the North East, but the Dudley in the Black Country, Middle England.

In 2018, I made the jump to Ashington Academy which was a bit of a shock because I was used to being in a class of 13 so moving up to a class of 30 pupils was quite different. On that first day, I remember that I cried when I arrived home because I wanted to go back to my old school because it was easier. However, I soon got used to high school life and started to enjoy my time at the Academy, which is why I applied to be on the Student Leadership Team; I wanted to help other students develop in school and enjoy their time at school, too!

My interests are art, photography, IT, and gaming. I play Xbox in my free time and sometimes play with my brother who sparked my interest initially. In turn, I’m now passing these same interests onto my little brother. Two of my favourite lessons in school are photography and English; I always enjoy these lessons when I have them.

I am looking forward to working with the rest of the Student Leadership Team and helping to develop students in their younger years to become the best students that they can be.

If you have any queries or suggestions on how you would like the school to progress, then please feel free to come to talk to me or anyone else on the Student Leadership Team and we will be happy to help.
