"Hi, I'm Rebecca and I'm a member of the Student Leadership Team here at Ashington Academy. Previously, I was a Creative Ambassador and helped out at school events in this role. My favourite subjects in school are art, DT and English.
Currently in school, I attend Book Club on Tuesday lunchtimes, Art Club after school on Tuesdays, Law Club on Thursday lunchtimes and Maths Challenge on Friday lunchtimes. During your time here at the Academy, I implore you to at least try out one club! At Ashington Academy, we strongly recommend attending these extra-curricular activities as it can help improve confidence, your communication skills and it is an ideal opportunity to meet new people.
When I leave school, I would like to go to university to study fine art and work towards becoming a product illustrator. If you can't tell already, I like art! So much so, that outside of school, I do commissions. So far this year, I have completed four commissions and hope to do a lot more in the future. Apart from drawing and painting, my other hobbies include archery. I love doing archery as it can release and take away any stress or other built up emotions I may have. I also love to read. Reading clears my mind and can help me relax at any point in the day. Some of my favourite books that I have read over the years are War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and a more recent book, Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I also loved the Harry Potter book series.
Finally, I would just like to say that if you have any questions, worries, need help or just in general need someone to talk to, I am more than happy to help, so please come and find me. We, as a Student Leadership Team, are here for you all and we hope that you make the most of and enjoy your time at this school!"
